The NHL team that wore the “Rock” jersey on the opening day of the NHL All-Star Game in Los Angeles is set to wear it again in the new year.
The NHL will take its “RocknRoll” brand to New York in January as part of the “NHL All-Stars” festivities.
“Rock’nRoll”, a nod to the legendary rock band, will wear the “Sons of Rock” jersey at the games, which begin Feb. 1.
The team, which is headed by former New York Islanders star John Tavares, is expected to be one of the biggest names in hockey.
“The Rock” will be wearing the “Lite” jersey, which features a yellowish-orange paint job and is less traditional than the “Classic” jersey.
The jersey is designed to appeal to fans in younger generations who may not wear traditional NHL jerseys.
“I think it’s going to be a great opportunity for the fans and the kids and everyone in between,” Tavares said on NHL Network on Jan. 20.
“It’s going be the ultimate Rock ‘nRoll jersey and we’re really excited to wear that in the New York area.”
“Rock ‘n Roll” was a trademarked trademark of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1967 and was re-licensed in 1996.
The original Rock ‘N Roll “Rock and Roll” jersey was worn by the Philadelphia Flyers for the 1967-68 season.
The current version of the jersey features a lighter orange color, white trim and white sleeves.
“We were looking to re-sign a brand that had been in the game for a long time and to do that in such a way where they felt comfortable and we felt comfortable to use them in that way,” NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman said on Jan 15.
“And to do it with an iconic jersey, that is very exciting.”
The league announced the rebranding on Jan 16.
“At this time, we will honor our fans with the Rock ‘ ‘N roll logo, the ‘Lite’ jersey, and the Rock n Roll logo.
This is a brand and this is what they’ve come to expect,” Bettman told reporters in Nashville, Tenn.
“That’s a brand we’re proud of.
And we’ll be celebrating it.”
The NHL All Stars will be presented by Nike, which released a line of clothing that was designed for the NHL Players’ Association on Jan 14.
The line includes a pair of skate boots and sneakers that feature the “Hockey Shoes” logo.
The league said the sneakers are the first of their kind.
“This is a new partnership with Nike that is the largest-ever apparel partnership in the history of the game,” Bett.
This partnership with the NHL marks the first time that the NHL will be able to wear a jersey from a global brand and is another step in that evolution of the league.” “
Each Nike Nike product features the ‘Rock and ‘Roll’ logo on the heel.

The “Rock n Roll” logo on skate boots has been used since the 1950s.
The “Sos” logo has also been worn by NHL teams for decades.
