With the arrival of Gen Z, the fashion industry has been in a race to find the next fashion star, according to a new report.
The study, conducted by the fashion blog Fashionista, found that of the 250 fashion designers in the history of the industry, 65 are female.
And of the 500 top-selling designers, 100 of them are women.
The report also found that women’s fashion trends have remained in the background for the past 40 years.
In contrast, the men’s fashion industry is rapidly becoming a dominant force in fashion, with more than half of the top-grossing designers in 2017, and more than 70% of the fashion designers of the past decade.
The top-earning male designers in 2016 were all men.
The report also said the fashion market is increasingly dominated by a select few brands.
Among the top 100 designers in history, only four have been women.
